Pingilla Release Notes
Pingilla 1.1
October 31, 2026
Thank you for the kind messages about the first release!
I have started tackling some of your much appreciated suggestions (a special thanks to Alistair and Bernd!):
-
Hostname in LAN Scanner. A new column, on by default, shows each device’s full hostname, also in the device details, in search, in prints and in CSV exports. Pingilla asks your network’s DNS first and then the devices themselves, so you’ll see names like
nas.localeven if your router doesn’t know them (I’ve found that’s often the case with home networks). -
Bonjour Name. Another new column, off by default (right-click the column headers to turn it on), shows the name a device announces, even after you’ve given it a name of your own.
-
Copy Name, Copy Hostname, Copy Bonjour Name. In the context menu of a device and in the Device menu, next to Copy IP Address and Copy MAC Address.
-
Better prints. Pages are now numbered, and a very long name no longer squeezes the other columns until addresses break in two.
Hostname, Bonjour Name and the new Copy commands are free for everyone.
Hostnames and Bonjour names fill in with the next scan.
If you have ideas or run into anything, I’d love to hear about it at support@cdf1982.com. And if you have a moment for a review in the App Store, or to tell your friends about Pingilla, it always helps indie developers like myself.
My best, Cesare

The first release: an uptime monitor, a LAN scanner and a ping tool, together in one small and polished menu bar app, named after my husky Milla. 🐾
